MY STORY
Meet Jess Nicholls – Founder of Sleep Sweet Little Ones
Hi, I’m Jessica Nicholls, a certified sleep coach specialising in children aged 0-4 years. It’s a true privilege to support families across the US and now in Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex and the rest of the UK. My passion lies in guiding families through their sleep challenges and witnessing the amazing transformations that come from improved sleep.
My journey began with my own family. Originally from South Africa and raised in England, I spent a decade in Dallas, Texas, and now live in Surrey, UK with my husband and our two wonderful boys.
My personal sleep journey turned upside down in 2017 when we welcomed our first son, Freddie. Like many parents, I faced nearly two years of sleep deprivation that affected our entire family. I remember feeling overwhelmed as Freddie cried for hours at night, and I watched other parents with babies the same age enjoying longer stretches of sleep. Despite trying everything—googling solutions, seeking advice from friends and doctors, and ordering every sleep aid I could find on Amazon in the middle of the night—nothing seemed to work. I felt exhausted, isolated, and unsure of what to do. Little did I know at the time, he was just a low-sleep need baby and I was trying to fit him into a generic schedule that just didn’t work for him! Creating more tears, less sleep and everyone was exhausted.
When our second son, William, arrived in 2019, I knew I had to make a change. After enduring sleepless nights, I finally hired a sleep consultant, and it was a life-changing experience. This transformation ignited my passion for baby and toddler sleep, motivated me to become certified through The Cradle Coach Academy and work with a sleep consultancy in both the US and now the UK, allowing me to help other families achieve similar success.
I’ve dedicated my career to supporting and empowering parents who feel overwhelmed and uncertain about helping their little ones sleep. Whether you're facing naptime struggles, bedtime battles, or overnight wake-ups, I’m here to create a personalised plan tailored to YOUR family’s and baby’s needs. I understand what you’re going through, and I want to help you all get the rest you deserve! Every sleep plan is tailored specifically to your baby, your family, and your lifestyle — never a one-size-fits-all routine. My approach is grounded in scientific research, evidence, therefore I don’t use generic schedules or wake windows.
A Few Fun Facts About Me:
I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether it's walking, hiking, or exploring.
My youngest son, William, faced challenges like colic, severe tongue tie, and lactose intolerance, providing me with valuable insights into these issues.
I adore traveling the world with my family and exploring new places.
Mexican and Italian cuisine are my favorites—I could enjoy them every day!
I genuinely love what I do and am grateful for the chance to serve families like yours. We’re all in this together, and I can’t wait to help your family find the rest you deserve.
Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to working with you!
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU WORK WITH ME:
I’m passionate about helping families reach their sleep goals quickly—because better sleep shouldn’t take forever. Yes, I sleep train—but I never use the ‘extinction’ method. That means: I do not recommend using 'cry it out', no closing the door and waiting until morning.
For babies under 14 months, I take a more structured approach, I promise you will always be responding to your baby—in short, consistent, responsive intervals. For toddlers, it’s more gradual. Always tailored. Always realistic.
I don’t believe in wake windows, generic schedules, or letting your baby ‘cry it out’. Not because it’s harmful—just because there are better, more responsive ways that actually work quickly.
My approach is rooted in science and research. I will also review real sleep data from your baby before we start.
I teach independent sleep if that’s your goal.
I won’t ask you to stop breastfeeding, stop being responsive, stay home all day, or follow a rigid plan that doesn’t fit your family’s lifestyle.
I will be honest with you—sleep training does involve change, and yes, that means some crying. Even gentle approaches involve crying. But I’ll guide you with honest, supportive, evidence-based strategies that allow you to still be responsive to their needs, not damage attachment and they still feel supported while learning how to sleep independently.
Every baby is unique. So my plans are, too.
If you select my 1:1 support package, I will take the guessing work away from you, guiding you step by step each day.
If you’re ready for better sleep without the nonsense, I’d love to work with you.
